CCTV appeal following knifepoint robbery in Liverpool

We have released CCTV images of a man who could have information to help our ongoing investigation into a knifepoint robbery last month.

At around 1.20am on Friday 8 September, it was reported that a man aged in his 50s was approached by a man on Scotland Road, who was armed with a knife.

He threatened to use the weapon and took the victim’s phone and wallet.

A short while later, at around 2.20am, an attempt was made to use the victim’s bank card at a nearby convenience store, but the transaction was declined.

Since the incident, we have carried out several lines of inquiry and are now in a position to release CCTV images of a man who we believe could have information.

Detective Inspector Katie Coote said: “This would have been a traumatic incident for the victim and although he wasn’t injured, he was understandably left very distressed.

“We are determined to get knives off our streets and reducing knife crime in Merseyside is a priority for our force all year round.

“If you have any information about this incident, or you recognise the man pictured in the CCTV images, please let us know. We believe the man in the images could have information to assist our investigation.”
