We have released a CCTV image of a male who could have information following a reported robbery in St Helens last month.
On Monday 21 August at around 11am, a cyclist locked his bike outside Wilko, on Cotham Street, before entering the shop.
When he went back outside, he saw a male was trying to snap the lock with bolt cutters and when approached, the suspect claimed he had a knife and threatened him.
The male left with the bike in the direction of St Helens Town Hall and the victim was left shaken by the incident.
Our enquiries are ongoing and if you have any information please get in touch.
Detective Constable Natalie Woodbridge said: “This was a brazen robbery outside a busy shop in broad daylight. To threaten anyone with a knife is appalling and we are determined to find the person responsible.
“If you recognise the male pictured in this image, please let us know because we believe he could have information to help the investigation.
“Likewise, if you witnessed the incident or have any other information to assist, let us know.”
If you recognise the man pictured or have any information please contact us via @MerPolCC on Twitter or Merseyside Police Contact Centre on Facebook, with reference 23000782714.
