We have charged a 24-year-old man following a road traffic collision between a Volkswagen Passat and a marked police car on Woodchurch Road in Prenton on Friday, 8th September.
Following the collision the police car caught fire. The two police officers inside the vehicle were able to get out with only minor injuries.
Niall Sinfield, of Speedwell Road, Claughton, has been charged with failing to stop after a road accident, driving a vehicle without due care and attention and failing to report an accident.
He was bailed to appear in court in Wirral on Tuesday 26th September.
