Detectives appeal for witnesses after robbery in Carr Meadow Hey

We are appealing for witnesses after a man was punched and kicked in the head when his bike was stolen in Netherton.
 
On Monday 26 February between 8.40pm and 8.50pm it was reported that two men on electric bikes were stopped by a group of four males on an electric motorcycle wearing balaclavas.
 
The two men rode off towards Carr Meadow Hey where the four males attacked them and punched and kicked one of the men in the head several times before taking his bike.

The man suffered cuts and bruises after the incident and went to hospital. 
 
CCTV and witness enquiries was carried out by officers in the area at the time of the attack and detectives are now appealing to anyone who saw the incident to contact police.
 
Detective Inspector Samantha Davies said: “This was a violent attack on a young man who could have been seriously injured after four males stole his bike and left him lying on the floor.
 
“The incident happened during a busy time of the evening where people who were shopping or returning home in Car Meadow Hey may have seen the attack.
 
“If you were inside or near Ideal Choices Convenience Store where the four suspects stopped shortly after the attack on Monday 26 February and saw them or what happened please contact police immediately so we can find those responsible. 
 
“I would like to reassure residents that our local officers are committed to removing anyone who causes such violence in our community. Information from our community is vital if we are to stop such violent crimes that causes fear on our streets so please come forward.”
