We are appealing for information following a collision on Junction Lane in Sutton where a woman was left with serious injuries after the driver of a car drove off after the incident.
At around 3.45pm on Monday 3 April we received a report that a stolen grey Audi A4 was involved in a collision with a blue Volkswagen Polo near the junction on Station Road.
A 73-year-old woman who was a passenger in the Polo suffered serious injuries including fractures to her hand, foot and sternum and remains in hospital. The driver of the car also suffered minor injuries after the incident.
The driver of the Audi didn’t stop at the scene and the car was later found at Yarn Close. Our officers are continuing to investigate this incident to locate the driver of the car and anyone else involved.
Inspector Josh Griffiths said: “To leave the scene of a collision is a serious crime, and we’re keen to trace the driver involved to assist our enquiries.
“It was also reported that two other men were inside the Audi at the time of the collision and ran away from the area after the incident occurred, therefore we are appealing to anyone who saw this or the car involved to please contact us.
“If you were driving on Station Road or Junction Lane and have any CCTV or dashcam footage from the afternoon of Monday 3 April, please send this or any information to us so we can take action.”
If you have information about this incident, please contact @MerPolCC, or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111, quoting the reference number: 24000309170.
