We have issued CCTV images of a man who may have information following an attempted robbery in Liscard.
At around 11.15am on Saturday 13 July, it was reported that a man approached a woman aged in her 70s outside Liscard Stop and Shop, on Wallasey Road, and took her handbag.
The woman was able to wrestle the handbag back from the man and he left the scene on foot.
Since the incident, extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been carried out and we are now in a position to issue an image of man who we believe could have information.
Detective Inspector Andy Schofield said: “To target a woman aged in her 70s in such an aggressive manner is appalling and won’t be tolerated.
“I would appeal to the man pictured to please come forward, or if you recognise him please get in touch, because we believe he could have information to assist our investigation.”Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook with reference 24000620853.
