We are releasing CCTV images of two men who could have information that may assist with enquiries following a reported burglary of a shop in Old Swan on Saturday 3 August.
At around 4.50pm, it was reported that two men entered Richies Fruitiques Boutique on St Oswald Street when one man reached over the counter and attempted to grab money from the till.
The shop assistant intervened but was pushed over and held down while the other suspect took money from the till. The two suspects then made off along Prescot Road in the direction of Green Lane.
No injuries were sustained but the victim was left very shaken.
Extensive CCTV and witness enquiries have been conducted, and detectives have issued a CCTV images of two men they believe could assist in their investigation.
Detective Inspector Darren Taylor said: “This was a very distressing experience for the victim who was left in a state of shock and thankfully was not injured.
“This happened while the victim was trying to make an honest living, and we are determined to catch the suspect responsible so they can’t target anyone else.
“Theft from a business is not a victimless crime. I am appealing for the men featured in these images, or anyone who recognises them to come forward. We believe they could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.
“We also encourage people to come forward if you know anything about the incident which will help with our investigation. This incident took place at a busy time with rush hour traffic in the area, so I urge anyone who noticed two men acting suspiciously around that time or has captured it on dashcam footage to please contact us.
