A man has been arrested following a domestic incident in Toxteth in the early hours of this morning, Monday 5 August.
We received a report just before 12.05am that a man had sprayed an unknown substance at a male and female on Granby Street.
The victims’ , a woman in her 30s and male in his 40’s, received medical treatment and are now recovering at home with minor injuries,
Tests are being carried out to establish what the substance is.
A 46-year-old man from Toxteth has been arrested on suspicion of Assault and Administering a Noxious Substance and he is still in police custody to be questioned.
Detective Inspector Jay Halpin said: “A man is in custody following what we believe to be domestic-related and an isolated incident, and enquiries are continuing to be carried out.
“I am appealing for anyone who has information which will help the investigation to please contact us.”
