We have charged a further five people in connection with disorder in Southport on Tuesday (30 July), and Liverpool city centre and Walton on Saturday (3 August).
Gareth Metcalfe, 44 years, of Cambridge Gardens, Southport was charged with violent disorder in Southport after a group was seen showing aggression to police. He was remanded in custody to appear at Wirral Magistrates Court at 9.45am on Monday 5 August.

A 14-year-old boy from Toxteth has been charged with violent disorder in Liverpool city centre on Saturday after officers in Clayton Square had fireworks set off in their direction. The group were pursued on foot by officers to Tarleton Street where a male was arrested. He was remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Youth Court at 9.45am on Monday 5 August.
Adam Wharton, 28 years, of Selwyn Street, Walton has been charged with burglary other than a dwelling and Ellis Wharton, 22 years, of Selwyn Street, Walton has been charged with burglary other than a dwelling and assault on an emergency worker after a group entered the Spellow Hub library on County Road and were challenged by officers trying to steal equipment. They were remanded in custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court at 9.45am on Monday 5 August.
The charges bring the total charged in connection with disorder in Southport, Liverpool city centre and Walton to 11.
