Five men have been arrested following an incident in Bootle this morning, Friday 30 August.
Just after 5.30am officers were called to a report that a taxi driver had been assaulted by three men on Linacre Lane.
It was further reported that the men stole money from the taxi cab and made off. No injuries were reported.
Officers attended and following enquires traced the men to an address in Walton.
The five men were arrested on suspicion of threats to kill, racially aggravated public order, affray with a weapon and theft. They are in police custody to be questioned.
