A man has been arrested following reports of an assault in Bootle this afternoon (Sunday 4 August).
Officers were called just before 3.15pm to a report a man in his 30s had sustained superficial wounds following an altercation with a colleague at a business premises on Stanley Road.
He has been taken to hospital where he is being treated.
A 37-year-old man from Bootle has been arrested on suspicion of wounding. He has been taken into custody to be interviewed.
Detective Inspector Adam Smith said: “We have made a swift arrest following this incident and our investigation to establish the full circumstances has begun.
“Our officers are committed in removing anyone who uses weapons to cause harm through the proactive use of stop and search powers, open land searches, warrants and education work alongside partners.
“The use of knives and any weapons is reckless and will not be tolerated, and can have devastating consequences, not only for the victim and their family but also for the offenders involved.
