Man arrested following incidents of indecent exposure in St Helens

A man has been arrested following several incidents of indecent exposure in St Helens.

At around 5pm on Thursday 1 August officers stopped a man in a white van after it was reported that a man who had exposed himself was in the area of Clock Face Country Park. 

Officers arrested a 36-year-old man from St Helens on suspicion of outraging public decency. He was taken to a police station in Merseyside and has since been bailed with conditions.

Inspector Josh Griffiths said: “I hope this result reassures residents in the area and shows how committed our officers are in investigating such incidents that can cause real distress in our community and are completely inappropriate. 

“I would also like to thank members of the public who informed us of these incidents which led this arrest.

“Our investigation into this incident is still ongoing therefore we urge anyone who has any information to contact Merseyside Police social media desk @MerPolCC using reference 23000330719 so we can investigate."
