We have arrested a 37-year-old man from Ellesmere Port on suspicion of impersonating a police constable, possession of a controlled drug (class a – cocaine) and theft.
The arrest was made following an incident at a club in Birkenhead on 17 August where a man claimed to be a police officer and reported to have a warrant card.
The man was arrested at an address in the Wirral area on Sunday 18 August. He has been questioned by detectives and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.
