We have arrested a woman in connection with the domestic assault of a man in Croxteth last night, Wednesday 28 August.
At around 6.30pm, officers attended an address on Waterbridge Drive to reports of a man having been assaulted, sustaining injuries to his head, hand and leg.
A 32-year-old woman from Croxteth was arrested on suspicion of Section 18 assault and taken into custody for questioning.
The victim was taken to hospital for assessment of his injuries, which are currently described as stable. Enquiries are ongoing.
Detective Inspector Chris Clark said: "At this early stage we believe that this was a domestic incident which occurred inside the address.
"However, we are still looking to speak to anyone who may have information, or heard anything at around 6.30pm last night."
