We are investigating after reports of a break-in at a charity warehouse on Blackstock Street in Liverpool.
We were contacted at 8.30am today, Monday 23 December, following reports someone had forced entry to the Whitechapel centre’s warehouse and stolen items including food, toiletries and clothing.
It is believed the break-in happened between 5pm on Friday 20 December and 8.15am today.
Liverpool local policing Chief Inspector Charlotte Irlam said: “Business burglaries are not victimless crimes but for people to choose to target a warehouse which collects items for the city’s homeless, and in particular just before Christmas, is particularly contemptable.
“Anyone who was in the vicinity of Blackstock Street over the weekend who heard or saw anything or believes they have been offered items for sale are asked to contact us.”

This year’s annual Christmas campaign is aimed at preventing crime and protecting communities during the festive period. The ‘crime cracker’ theme to Operation Shepherd aims to encourage people to take steps to guard against the types of crime that can happen at Christmas.
