We are appealing for information following a reported burglary in St Helens on Monday 16 December.
At around 1.50pm officers were called following a report that someone had forced entry into a property on Cowley Hill Lane.
Police attended and pedal bike was reported stolen, and no one was injured during the incident.
An investigation is now underway including forensic examination and obtaining CCTV and doorbell footage.
Detective Inspector Richie Shillito said: “I would urge people who saw someone acting suspiciously on Cowley Hill Lane to please contact us.
“The stolen bike is a white and red Carerra pedal bike, so if you see it the area or if you see someone selling a bike of that description to please let us know.
“I would also ask people who were in the area to check their dashcam, CCTV or doorbell footage to see if they may have captured something which may be vital to the investigation.”
