We are appealing for information following a serious fail to stop road traffic collision in Dovecot.
At 7.45pm on Tuesday 17 December we received a report of a collision involving a 16-year-old boy on a bike and a van on East Prescot Road, close to the junction of Finch Lane on the Huyton-born carriageway.
The boy was cycling with two friends when his bike was in collision with a dark coloured van and the boy fell off his bike, resulting in a broken arm.
The van involved failed to stop at the scene and has not reported the incident.
An investigation into the collision remains ongoing.
Matrix roads policing Inspector Ian Cowell said: “We are appealing to anyone who was in the area of East Prescot Road on the evening of 17 December who witnessed the collision or saw the movements of the van either before or afterwards to get in touch.”
Anyone with information is asked to DM @MerPolCC or call 101 quoting reference 24001062254.
Information can also be passed on anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
