We are appealing for information after a man was stabbed in Everton earlier this evening, Sunday, 1 December.
At around 5.15pm, we received a report from North West Ambulance Service that paramedics were treating a 37-year-old man on Handfield Street for stab wounds.
The victim, has been taken to hospital, for treatment to injuries on his back and face. His injuries are not being treated as life threatening.
Crime Scene Investigators are carrying out forensic examinations at the scene and officers are conducting house-to-house inquiries. CCTV footage will also be examined in a bid to establish the circumstances surrounding the attack.
Detective Inspector Neil Dillon, said “We are in the very early stages of the investigation and are appealing to anyone who has any information, or witnessed the incident to come forward and speak to us.
"We believe there were three offenders involved in the assault who are described as white teenagers. They were all dressed in black and were last seen heading towards Breckfield Road, North.
“If you were driving along Handfield Street, or Breckfield Road North, and have any dashcam footage, or you live there and have CCTV, please review your footage and get in touch if you captured anything.
“There is no place for knives in our communities and we will always seek to take positive action when we have information about people are storing, carrying or using weapons. I would urge anyone with information to get in touch so we can act on community intelligence or call Crimestoppers anonymously.”
