We are issuing CCTV images of two men we believe could assist enquiries into a serious assault in Liverpool city centre on Friday 25 October.
It was reported a 30-year-old man was attacked by two men at about 1.30am when he was punched, knocked to the ground and kicked in the head. The victim was found by members of the public who called an ambulance. After being admitted to hospital he was found to have a fractured skull and bleed to the brain.
Detective Constable Matthew Davies said: “This was a vicious and unprovoked attack that left the victim very seriously hurt. His injuries have a had a direct impact on his life as he is unable to drive for six months and has been off work for a month.
“We are absolutely determined to find those responsible as soon as possible and remove them from the community.
“We believe the men pictured could hold vital information to help progress our enquiries, and urge anyone who recognises them to come forward.
“We know that there are likely to have been witnesses to this incident, and I would urge each and every one of those people to make themselves known immediately so we can establish why this happened and find those responsible. At this stage we do not know why the victim was targeted, so people need to start talking. Staying silent when you hold information on this incident should not be an option, so do the right thing and come forward.
"If you live close to Benson Street/Mount Pleasant or were passing by around 1.30am, please check your CCTV, dashcam or doorbell cameras. Every piece of information will be acted upon and you can come forward directly or anonymously via Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
