Detectives investigating a stabbing in Liverpool city centre earlier this month are issuing CCTV images of five males we would like to speak to.
At around 9.20pm on Monday 9 December, emergency services were called to Queens Square to reports of two teenagers having been stabbed inside the Q-Park. A 16-year-old male was taken to hospital having sustained injuries to his shoulder and arm. He has since been released from hospital. An 18-year-old male sustained injuries to his back and has been discharged.
Two 15-year-old boys from Anfield have so far been arrested on suspicion of two counts of Section 18 assault and theft of a motor vehicle, after a suspected stolen scrambler bike was seized. Both remain on conditional bail pending further enquiries.
Detective Inspector Chris Carlin said: “We believe that the five males pictured may have information to assist our ongoing enquiries. If you know them or recognise yourself in the images, please come forward at the earliest opportunity.
“This was a serious assault which could easily have led to even more serious consequences for the victims, who are thankfully recovering. We are determined to find those responsible and to take positive action whenever we receive information on the possession and use of knives and other weapons in the communities of Merseyside. If you were in the area of Queens Square on the evening in question and saw or captured anything, please let us know, quoting reference 24001037160. The smallest detail could prove vital.
“If you have any information about people carrying a knife in your community, come forward to police or anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.”
