A man has been charged following a burglary which took place in Newton-le-Willows on Friday 6 December.
At around 8.10pm it was reported that a man had sustained a head injury and a puncture wound to his arm following a burglary at his home. He was taken to hospital for treatment.
Officers attended and following a search arrested a man.
Leon Burgess, 22 years, of no fixed address, has been charged with aggravated burglary and a Section 18 wounding with intent. He has been remanded into police custody to appear at Wirral Adult Remand Court today, Monday 9 December.
