A man who was wanted for breaching a Criminal Behaviour Order (CBO) has been jailed after he was caught by officers on (Tuesday 17 December).
Jack Roach, 21, of no fixed address, climbed onto the roof of shops on Eltham Green, Woodchurch when he saw officers approaching in Woodchurch on Tuesday but eventually came down and was arrested.
His CBO prohibited from entering the Woodchurch estate - as well as Tuesday, he was seen in the area by police on 20 November this year.
Roach was convicted and sentenced at Wirral Magistrates Court on Wednesday and jailed for 16 weeks. He was also ordered to pay a victim surcharge, court costs and costs to probation.
Woodchurch Neighbourhood Inspector Sharon Robinson said: “Our officers are dedicated to disrupting the activities of anyone who brings harm and distress to our communities through their criminality.
“We are determined to tackle serious and organised crime in the EVOLVE Wirral area and will use everything in our power to make Woodchurch, Beechwood and Noctorum safer places to live and visit.
“Together with our partners we are deploying tactics and legislation to crack down on gang-related activity, and Criminal Behaviour Orders are a vital tool in those efforts.
"The prohibitions of those with Criminal Behaviour Orders are well known to local officers and policed rigorously so if Roach breaches his prohibitions again, we can act quickly to arrest him and put him back before the courts.
“We urge anyone with any information about criminal activities to contact us, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, so together we can make a difference to the lives of those growing up and living in EVOLVE neighbourhoods.”
