Two men have been arrested after drugs were found inside a property in Tranmere yesterday, Wednesday 18 December.
Officers were driving along Derby Road when they saw a vehicle parked on St Catherines Garden’s and a man went into a property nearby. He then returned and drove away onto Church Road.
The vehicle was stopped by officers and while carrying out a search found a rock of white powder, suspected to be crack cocaine.
The driver was arrested on suspicion of possession of a controlled Class A drug.
A further search was carried out at a house in Tranmere and officers found a large quantity of suspected Class A drugs, including psilocybin mushroom (otherwise known as magic mushrooms), ecstasy tablets and opiate tablets, and Class B drugs, ketamine and cannabis inside the property.
In addition, officers found a man with a bag of white powder, suspected to be cocaine.
Two men, aged 63 and 43 years from Tranmere, were arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and possession of a controlled Cass B drug. They are still in police custody to be questioned.
Community Policing Inspector Nicola Hughes said: “Thanks to proactive policing work a significant amount of drugs have been removed from our streets which cause harm in our communities.
“We urge people to continue coming forward with information and intelligence by either contacting us or anonymously through Crimestoppers so we can act.
“Stop searches, warrants, land searches and arrests take place all year round, and in many instances it is thanks to the public who tell us where there are issues in the community.
“If you have see suspected drug dealing or criminality in your area let us know and we will take action.”
