We have arrested two men for drugs supply offences and seized around £26,000 in cash after a car was searched in Liverpool city centre on Saturday 21 December.
Officers on patrol in the area spotted two men who were acting suspiciously in a parked Seat Cupra, on Knight Street.
When officers approached the vehicle, one of the men threw suspected cocaine wraps and snap bags out of the window.
Following a search of the car, around £400 in cash and two mobile phones were found and seized.
A search of a home linked to one of the men uncovered a further £26,000 in cash.
A 26-year-old man from Liverpool has been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled Class A drug (cocaine) and acquiring/using/possessing criminal property.
A 27-year-old man from Liverpool was arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a controlled Class A drug (cocaine).
They have both been released under investigation.
Chief Inspector Derek Riley said: “Thanks to officers on patrol in the city centre, we have been able to seize a quantity of suspected Class A drugs and a large quantity of cash.
“Two men have also been arrested and our enquiries are ongoing into this incident.
“We urge people to continue coming forward with information and intelligence by either contacting us or anonymously through Crimestoppers so we can act.
“Stop searches, warrants, land searches and arrests take place all year round, and in many instances it is thanks to the public who tell us where there are issues in the community.
“If you have see suspected drug dealing or criminality in your area let us know and we will take action.”
