We are today, Thursday 1st February, continuing to appeal for information on the seventh anniversary of the death of a 26 year-old man in Wavertree.
At around 7pm on Wednesday 1st February 2017, police were called to Grosvenor Road, following reports that a man had been shot outside Anna Jung’s chip shop.
When officers arrived at the scene they found the victim, Aaron Lewis, suffering from serious gunshot wounds.
He was taken to Aintree Hospital where he was sadly pronounced dead a short while later.
Arrests have previously been made in connection with Aaron’s murder but to date nobody has been charged.
Detective Chief Inspector Cath Cummings said: “It’s incredible to think that seven years have passed since Aaron’s murder and his family have not got the justice they deserve.
“We know, as in most cases, that the answers probably lie in the community and that misplaced loyalty is what may be stopping people coming forward.
“I would urge people for their help and ask anyone who is afraid of speaking to us directly to give their information anonymously to Crimestoppers.
“We remain committed to keeping our communities safe and targeting gun and serious crime but we cannot do this alone and we need the public to help us in our fight to get guns off our streets.”
Anyone who has any information which could help is asked to DM @MerPolCC, or contact the CrimestoppersUK line anonymously on 0800 555 111.
