We have issued CCTV images of a man we believe may have vital information that could assist an investigation into an assault in Liverpool city centre.
It was reported that a man was headbutted three times by two men at a gig inside the Kazimier Stockroom venue on Seel Street at around 10pm on 4 November 2023.
When the victim was head-butted a third time he fell backwards down a small flight of stairs, losing consciousness briefly. He was taken to hospital for treatment for serious facial injuries.
Since the assault, witnesses have been spoken to and extensive CCTV enquiries have been conducted at the bar and the surrounding area in the city centre.
Detectives have issued CCTV images of a man they wish to speak who could assist in their investigation.
Detective Inspector Chris Carlin said: “This was a completely unprovoked attack on a man who was simply trying to enjoy live music in our city.
“He was left with significant bleeding from a serious injury to his face, but is thankfully making a recovery from his injuries at home.
“Everyone should be able to feel safe enjoying the wonderful nightlife in our city, and tens of thousands do every weekend.
“We want to keep it that way and we are working to find those responsible for this attack and bring them to justice.
“I am appealing to the man shown in these CCTV images, or anyone who recognises him, to come forward as we believe they could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.
“Similarly, if you saw the assault or any of those involved in this incident please contact police as soon as possible.
“If you have any photos or footage on your mobile inside Kazimier Stockroom from the night of Saturday 4 November, and a gig by the band Acrylics, we believe it could prove useful to our enquiries and ask that you provide us with any information or material you may hold.”
