We are continuing to appeal for witnesses in relation to a road traffic collision on Priory Road, Anfield, at around 7.30pm last night, Thursday 11th January.
Officers were dealing with an unrelated incident when an electrically assisted pedal cycle travelled through the area with two young males aboard. One of the males suffered serious injuries and remains in hospital in a serious condition.
The second male, who suffered slight injuries, ran away but was detained nearby. He remains in police custody.
Sergeant Simon Duffy said: “We are aware a group of bystanders were stood near to the incident and would have had a good view, possibly witnessing the whole incident.
“These people are likely to have vital information that will help our investigation. I would urge these people to contact Merseyside Police either by calling 0151 777 5747, or emailing [email protected]
“If you drove along Priory Road and noticed the incident or have dashcam fitted to your vehicle, I would also ask you to contact us as a matter of urgency.”
