We can confirm that a man arrested in connection with the death of a woman in Kirkby on Sunday 21 January has been released under investigation.
Officers were contacted following reports a 36-year-old woman had been found unconscious in a house on Roughwood Drive at around 5.20pm.
Emergency services attended but the woman was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Her family continue to be supported by specialist officers.
Results of a Home Office Post Mortem have been withheld pending toxicology reports and as such the death continues to be treated as unexplained.
A 23-year-old man from Kirkby who was arrested on suspicion of murder has been released under investigation.
