Police have charged a Liverpool man following a report of assault on Wednesday 24 July.
Just after 9.15am we received a report that a woman self-presented at hospital with injuries following a domestic incident.
Shaun Davidson, 39 year, of Arkles Lane in Anfield has been charged with assaulting a person thereby causing actual bodily harm, assault by beating, engaging in controlling/coercive behaviour in an intimate/family relationship, Section 18 wounding, criminal damage valued under £5,000, possession of controlled Class B drug, cannabis, driving while disqualified and using a motor vehicle on a road without insurance.
He appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court yesterday, Thursday 25 July, and has been remanded into custody. The next hearing is on Thursday 22 August at Liverpool Crown Court.
Detective Inspector Jemma Berry said: “There is help available to anyone who may be suffering domestic abuse of any kind and together with partner agencies, we will do all that we can to support you.
“Domestic abuse can happen to anyone, and we have specially trained officers who will listen to you and support you with sensitivity and compassion.
“I would ask everyone to look out for family members, friends or neighbours that may be suffering. By contacting us, you could be helping someone who is too afraid to help themselves. Everything you tell us is taken extremely seriously and will be investigated thoroughly.”
