We have arrested a man and seized suspected Class A drugs and cash following the stop of a private hire vehicle in Bootle last night, Monday 8 July.
At around 7.30pm, officers on patrol in Benedict Street sighted a Ford Focus private hire vehicle in suspicious circumstances. The vehicle was stopped and the driver found in possession of suspected Class A drugs. Cash was also found hidden in the vehicle. The driver was detained, and further items were found at his home address.
A 49-year-old man from Croxteth was arrested on suspicion of Possession with intent to supply Class A drugs and Drug driving. He remains in custody for questioning.
Detective Inspector Samantha Davies said: "We are committed to acting on all information about suspected drug dealing and those drivers who endanger other road users."
