A man has been charged with firearm offences after a pistol, bullets and drugs were recovered in Islington on Thursday 26 July.
Officers were on patrol along Everton Road when they saw a man acting suspiciously in Grant Gardens, and following a search of the area located a suspected firearm, drugs and cash. The weapon has been made safe and forensically recovered.
Sonny Daley, 18 years, of Tordelow Close in Everton, has been charged with Possession of a firearm, Possession of ammunition, Possession with intent to supply class A drugs – Heroin, Possession with intent to supply class A drugs – Cocaine, and Possession of criminal property.
He appeared at Liverpool Magistrates Court on Saturday 27 July and has been remanded into custody. He will next appear at Liverpool Crown Court on Monday 26 August.
Detective Inspector John Mullen said: “It is vital that members of our communities come forward with information so we can make our communities safer for the decent, law-abiding people who live in areas affected by gun crime.
“Where people are willing to support the police, we will ensure every possible avenue is progressed to protect them.
