We can confirm that we received a report that a suspected unexploded ordnance which is believed to be from WW2 is buried in a garden on Park Road South, Birkenhead.
Officers and military personnel are currently at the scene while a search for this suspected ordnance takes place.
An area of woodland with Birkenhead Park has been cordoned off as a precaution while we deal with the incident and ask people to avoid the area and find an alternative route.
