Detectives are continuing to appeal for information following the fatal shooting of Rikki Berry in Kirkby on Wednesday, 17 July.
At around 6.35pm, we received a report from North West Ambulance Service that a 36-year-old man had been shot on Quarryside Drive. Rikki was sadly pronounced dead a short time later.
We can confirm that the 20-year-old man arrested on Wednesday night has been conditionally bailed pending further enquiries.
Detective Chief Inspector Cath Cummings, the Senior Investigating Officer, said: "I want to urge anyone with information to keep coming forward as we piece together the circumstances of what happened on Wednesday.
"All information will be assessed and swift action taken so even if you think what you know is trivial, it could be the key to getting justice for Rikki’s family.
"The best place to pass information quickly to our investigation team is through our dedicated page, so please send information, images and footage to us via: Public Portal (mipp.police.uk)."
