We are appealing for information following a disturbance in St Helens yesterday afternoon, Monday 10 June.
At around 3pm, it was reported that three males and two females were involved in a fight on Peter Street and that weapons were used, including a wooden stick.
Emergency services attended the scene and a man aged in his 30s was taken to hospital with facial injuries. He has since been discharged.
Officers found the weapon used during the attack outside an address on Burnell Close.
As part of ongoing inquiries, officers believe that other people, including children, were in the area and witnessed the incident, with some recording it on their mobile phones.
We are appealing for anyone who saw the incident or has footage to please get in touch as it may assist our investigation.
Detective Inspector Steve Byrom said: “This was a shocking incident that happened in front of passers-by, including children, who may have witnessed the disturbance.
“If you were in the area and witnessed the incident or recorded footage, please let us know.
“Similarly, if you live in the area or were driving past, please check your CCTV or dashcam footage in case you captured anything significant.”
If you have any information on this incident, please contact @MerPolCC, 101 quoting reference number 24000515882.
