Detectives are today, Tuesday 18 June, continuing to appeal for information following the assault and subsequent death of Terence Dunn in Norris Green five years ago.
Terence - known as Terry - died aged 49 on 24 September 2019 from injuries sustained in an attack on 18 June 2019.
Terry was seriously assaulted by a man, believed to be carrying a golf club, on Wapshare Road, Norris Green at about 3.40pm that day.
The suspect was challenged by a member of the public and then ran off down a cut-through onto Kilrea Close, possibly making off down the loop line. He is described as white, 5ft 7in, in his 20s and wearing dark clothing with a hood up.
Four people have been arrested in connection with Terry’s death but to date nobody has been charged.
Kevin Clague, Head of Merseyside Police's Serious Crime Review Unit: “It’s now five years since Terry was fatally assaulted and I have no doubt that his family are devastated they have still not got the answers they deserve.
“Terry was a well-known and liked member of the Norris Green community, but for some reason he was specifically targeted and subjected to a brutal assault. He never recovered from his injuries and died just a few months later.
“We remain determined to find the person responsible for Terry’s death and getting justice for Terry’s death and I would urge anyone living in or around the Norris Green community who has information which could assist our investigation to get in touch.”
