We have charged a 54-year-old man with the supply of cocaine as part of an investigation into encrypted devices.
Carl Patrick Murphy, of Home Farm Road, Knowsley Village was arrested on Thursday 13 June in connection with information found as part of Operation Venetic: a national investigation into the use of Encrochat encrypted mobile devices.
The data related to the supply of significant quantities of cocaine and cash.
Murphy has since been charged with conspiracy to supply cocaine and conspiracy to conceal/disguise/transfer/remove criminal property.
He has been remanded into custody to appear at Wirral Magistrates Court today (Friday 14 June).
