A man has been arrested following a burglary at a distribution site in Knowsley last month.
In the early hours of Monday 6 May, four males were reported to have cut through railings of an Amazon Distribution Centre on Hornhouse Lane, then broke into three trailers and stole a large quantity of garden equipment.
Extensive enquiries were carried out, and on Wednesday 12 June officers arrested a 29-year-old man from Kirkby on suspicion of burglary, theft of a motor vehicle, possession of criminal property and handling stolen goods. Officers seized numerous items during a search of a residential property in Kirkby.
He has been bailed with strict conditions, while we continue to investigate.
Chief Inspector Chris Ruane said: “The burglary of any business premises is not a victimless crime. It impacts people’s livelihoods and their incomes. I hope this arrest shows that we have a zero-tolerance approach to burglary in Merseyside.
“We will continue to work with our local businesses and communities to deter and prevent business burglaries and would welcome any information from the community about other burglaries or the sale of stolen goods.”
