Man charged after assault in Kirkby

A man has been charged following a report of domestic assault in Kirkby on Saturday 29 June.

We received a report a man was being kicked in the front garden of a house on Buxted Road at around 6.50pm.

Officers attended and a man was arrested on nearby Lindby Road.

The victim, a man in his 50s, sustained serious facial injuries and received treatment in hospital. He has since been discharged.

Constantine Campbell, 25 years, of Buxted Road, Kirkby has been charged with causing grievous bodily harm.

He was remanded into custody to appear at Liverpool Magistrates Court today (Monday 1 July).

Detective Inspector Yoseph Al-Ramadhan said: “Domestic abuse can happen to anyone and we have specially trained officers who will listen to victims and support you with sensitivity and compassion. 
 
“Neighbours and family members can help by looking out for family members, friends or neighbours that may be suffering and letting us know of any concerns. 

“By speaking to us, you could be helping someone who is far too afraid to help themselves. Everything you tell us is taken extremely seriously and will be investigated thoroughly and sensitively.”
