We have charged a man with robbery following an incident at the Matalan store on the Rock Retail park in Tranmere yesterday, Monday 3 June.
At around 9.10am a male entered the store and grabbed a cash drawer from the counter. As he attempted to leave the store two members of staff attempted to stop him during which one of the staff members was punched.
Patrols attended and detained a male close to the store.
Nicholas Besim, 37, of no fixed abode, has been charged with two counts of robbery and using threatening, abusive or insulting words or behaviour.
He was remanded into custody to appear at Wirral adult remand court today, Tuesday 4 June.
