Following a comprehensive and complex investigation, we can confirm that a man has been charged in connection with a fatal road traffic collision in St Helens in 2022.
On Wednesday 12 January 2022, it was reported that a Mazda hatchback had been involved in a collision with a man on Moss Bank Lane.
Emergency services attended the scene but the man, who was later identified as Adam Cunliffe, aged 21, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Paul Whitfield, 54, of Hammond Street, in St Helens, has been charged with causing death by dangerous driving.
He is due to appear at Liverpool, Knowsley and St Helens Magistrates Court this afternoon, Wednesday 26 June.
