A 33-year-old man has been charged after a police officer was injured during an incident on Thorney Croft Road.
At around 9am we received a report that a man was damaging cars and shouting at people on Smithdown Road.
The man then went inside a property on Thorney Croft Road. When emergency services arrived at the property he threw several items at officers from the address.
A police officer sustained a fractured wrist after the incident.
Ugbo Onyeka, aged 33, of Smithdown Road, Wavertree was arrested and charged with section 20 assault and nine counts of assaulting an emergency worker.
Onyeka was remanded into custody and appeared at South Sefton Magistrates Court this morning (Friday 7 June).
