We have charged a 38-year-old man with Class A drugs offences.
Kevin Unsworth, of no fixed abode, was originally arrested in St Helens in April this year by the County Lines taskforce.
Following enquiries he was re-arrested on Pollitt Crescent in St Helens on Tuesday, 25 June.
He has been charged with possession with intent to supply Class A drugs (heroin and crack) and being concerned in the supply of Class A drugs.
He was remanded into custody to appear at Wirral magistrates court yesterday, Wednesday 26 June.
Project Medusa, funded by the Home Office, is a Merseyside initiative to tackle county lines drug dealing and the criminal exploitation of young people and vulnerable adults.
Inspector Stephen Morris said: “Merseyside Police leads nationally on the response to County Lines through Project Medusa. County Lines gangs have no regard for the young, vulnerable people they coerce in to running drugs across the country, often with threats of violence and intimidation.
“We will relentlessly target those crime groups who cowardly exploit vulnerable people in our communities. Those who exploit children will be caught, arrested and face justice for modern day slavery and human trafficking offences.”
If you have any information about County Lines activity in your area DM @MerPolCC or contact Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. In an emergency always call 999.
