Two people have been arrested on suspicion of drug offences and storing a dangerous weapon after a knuckle duster, cash and suspected Class A drugs were found by officers and Police Dog Theo at a house in Walton.
Yesterday morning officers followed and stopped a car on Leven Street in Walton. The man who was driving the car was searched and around £400 was found plus £1000 in a compartment in the vehicle.
Officers arrested the 27-year-old man from Liverpool and the passenger inside the car – a 24-year-old woman from Liverpool on suspicion of possession of criminal property and drug driving after the man failed a roadside test for cannabis.
Officers later searched a house in Walton with Police Dog Theo who found a shoe bag containing around £25,000 in cash, a large quantity of suspected cocaine and a knuckleduster.
The man and the woman were further arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to sell a Class A Drug and possession of an offensive weapon.
They have since been released under investigation whilst officers continue their examinations.
Detective Inspector Neil Dillon said: “Thanks to the vigilance and alertness of our officers and PD Theo, we have recovered a large amount of cash and suspected Class A drugs inside an address and arrested two people.
“I hope this result reassures residents in the area and shows how committed our officers are in removing any dangerous drugs that could cause serious harm and violence in our community.
“Our investigation into this incident is still ongoing therefore we urge anyone who has any information or knows anyone who could be involved in this crime to contact Merseyside Police social media desk @MerPolCC using reference 24000553154 so we can continue to investigate."
