Two males arrested following criminal damage in Wirral

Two males have been arrested following reports of criminal damage and anti-social behaviour in Wirral yesterday evening, Saturday 15 June.

At around 11.40pm we received reports that two men had smashed the windscreens to several vehicles on Napier Road and Shorefields in New Ferry.

It was further reported they then made off towards New Chester Road.

Officers attended and arrested a 23-year-old man from Rock Ferry and a 17-year-old male from Prenton on suspicion of criminal damage and they remain in police custody to be questioned.

Enquiries are ongoing to identify any further suspects involved in the incident.

Chief Inspector for Wirral Local Policing David Morgan said: “This mindless vandalism will not be tolerated. We know how much people rely on their vehicles and now through no fault of their own we have several members of the community without this vital form of transport and having to spend their time arranging for their vehicle to be repaired.

“I would urge people who were in the vicinity who saw this damage occurring to please get in touch. I also urge residents and anyone driving in the area to check your CCTV, doorbell and dashcam footage to see if has captured anything which will help with the investigation.”
