We are appealing for information after a girl was bitten by a dog in Everton.
At around 8.15am on Monday 4 March a woman was walking with her child on Hodder Road, leading into Mycroft Close, when a dog emerged from the bushes and bit the youngster on the cheek.
Her mum managed to fend off the dog and it ran away.
The six-year-old girl sustained cuts to her face and was treated for her injuries.
The offending dog is described as medium sized with black, short fur.
Detective Inspector Chirs Carlin said: “Understandably the youngster is still shaken by the incident, and it is imperative that we find the offending dog so it cannot attack anyone else.
“We urge anyone who has seen a dog matching the description in the area or knows where it is then please contact us. Any information provided will help the investigation.”
Anyone who witnessed this incident or with any information is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook with reference 24000229071.
