We can confirm that enquiries are ongoing after a dog attack in Bootle on Friday, 22 March.
At around 1.35pm, officers were called to Derby Park on Earl Road to reports of a Pitbull-type dog reportedly attacking a Cavapoo on the main path of the park.
The Cavapoo was taken to a vet where it was sadly pronounced deceased.
Enquiries are ongoing to identify the owner of the Pitbull-type dog and the circumstances of the incident.
