Detectives have issued CCTV images of a woman who could have information that may assist with their enquiries following an assault on Lark Lane.
At around 2.20am on Saturday 17 February it was reported that security staff were trying to remove a woman from Keith's Wine Bar, and during the argument she suddenly hit another woman standing nearby with an object believed to be a glass or bottle.
The suspect then left the premises and made off.
The victim, a woman in her 30s, sustained cuts to her face and eye, and a bloodshot eye from the assault.
CCTV and witness enquiries are ongoing to identify the suspect responsible, and detectives have issued images of a woman they believe could assist with their investigation.
Detective Inspector Chris Carlin said: “This was a nasty and reckless unprovoked attack which has left the victim with injuries to her face. One cut is close to her eye, and any higher and she could have been blinded. Doctors have told the victim that she could be left with scarring on her face.
“I am appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident or has information which can help with our investigation to please contact us.
“I am also appealing to the woman featured in the images, or anyone who recognises her to contact us. We believe she could hold information that could be vital to our continuing enquiries.”
Anyone with information on this incident is asked to contact @MerPolCC on Twitter or ‘Merseyside Police Contact Centre’ on Facebook with reference 24000181890.
