We are appealing for information after reports a man was assaulted in Tuebrook in the early hours of today (Sunday 11 February).
Police were called to Scorton Street at 3.45am where it was reported a number of males were fighting in the street.
It was further reported a man had been punched and kicked outside and was taken to hospital for treatment for a laceration to his head. His condition is described as stable.
An investigation is underway to establish the circumstances and a forensic examination of the scene has been completed.
Officers have conducted enquiries at neighbouring businesses and are continuing to explore CCTV opportunities in the area.
Detective Inspector Jemma Berry said: “This was a nasty incident which began in a café on Rocky Lane and continued outside onto Scorton Street.
“Such violence has no place on the streets of Tuebrook or anywhere in Merseyside.
“While the incident occurred at 3.45am, and the street would have been quiet, we are keen to speak to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or may have dashcam capturing any part of it.
“If you have any information, however small it may seem, please get in touch. You can DM @MerPolCC on X, call 101 quoting reference 24000164133 or call Crimestoppers, anonymously on 0800 555 111."
