We can confirm that a man has been arrested following an incident in Old Swan this afternoon, Wednesday 14 February.
Officers attended a property on Baden Road shortly after 1.10pm following reports that a man had been seen with a hammer inside, and that he had grabbed a woman by the neck.
The man then went inside a flat and locked the door. Officers attended the scene and a containment was put in place. A short while later a 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault and affray and taken into police custody.
There have been no reports of anyone being injured and a road closure has now been lifted.
