A man has been charged after two burglaries in Prescot and Kirkby where over £1,100 was taken from two women inside their homes.
On Tuesday 23 January it was reported that a woman answered the door of her house in Prescot to a man who offered to cut down some trees in her garden. After cutting down the trees the man followed the woman inside her house and demanded more money than what was agreed. He then left the property with around £1000.
On Tuesday 14 February it was reported that a man knocked on the door of another house in Prescot and offered to cut down some trees for a woman in her front garden. After cutting down the trees and clearing the wood the man demanded more money than what was agreed. After following the woman into her property demanding the money that was owed the man left with over £170 that he took from the woman.
Officers have today (Friday 16 February) arrested and charged James Thomas Evans, aged 47, of Lawnswood Grove, Elton, Chester with burglary and theft. He has been remanded into custody and will appear at Liverpool Knowsley Sefton and St Helens Adult Remand Court on Saturday 17 February.
